Two Technical High School students saw a flying saucer on Breckwood Blvd. last night. Joseph Dumas of 803 Armory St., one of the students, reported it. He was astounded, shaken, and, until he called The Union to tell about it, speechless.
He and Edward Brogan of 63 Colonial Ave., saw the flying saucer as they were driving along Breckwood Blvd., from Boston Rd., to Wilbraham Rd., about 8:15.
It was 100 feet away from them at its closet point, Dumas said, and when it left, it shot straight up into the sky and was gone “in a second.”
He didn't want to get any closer to it than he had to, so didn't get out of his car, which he had pulled over to the side of the road when he spotted the saucer so there wouldn't be any collision. “We were riding down the road in my car,” Dumas related, “when we saw this red thing; we thought it was a plane with its motor on fire. “I thought it was coming at me so I pulled over to the side of the road and stayed there. There were two pieces to it, like.
“It went up and down about 20 feet each way, and made a weird, high-pitched, whistling noise. Then it went straight up and was gone in a second.
"It looked like it was giving off sparks: It wasn't aflame, just aglow. The bottom part, the shape of a slice of baloney, was about six feet in diameter. The top part was convex, like a lens, and about four feet across.
“There didn't seem to be any connection between the two discs, but there was a reddish hue between them. It seemed like one disc was following the other.”
After making a series of those 20-foot hops in the air, the thing shot skyward in an instant and was out of sight. (Source Union newspaper Springfield ma)

My stepmother and I were in search of my younger brothers. We walked out on the front porch looking for them and approx. at a 90 degree angle of where we were standing, there appeared a UFO. It was disk in shape with very bright, white, florescent in appearance, lights encompassing the middle of the disk shaped object. The lights were illuminating at sporadic intervals in a fast pace around the object. The object was very still in the air for approx. 2 minutes as we watched in awe. It made no sound at all. Suddenly from out of no where, another disk shaped object appeared and hovered next to the first one. This UFO identical to the first one. The first one, as if waiting for this second one, tilted slightly and off it went into the yonder with the other one following. Needless to say, my stepmother and myself looked at each other as this strange occurrence took place and said "do you see what I see?" We never reported this to anyone as we figured no one would have ever listened, let alone, believed it. Till this day we still talk about it.(Source NUFORC.org)
Summer 2001
I was in my kitchen in East Springfield and it was approx 1:30AM, I was with a couple friends who had just finished helping me with projects around the house and we were just talking old times and the like. I wandered out onto the back deck and one of my buddies followed me. Being an amateur astronomer I always look up to the sky whenever I go out at night. As I'm looking almost directly up I notice what appears to be 3 satellites in triangular formation going slowly from east to west. I've never seen this before so I pointed it out to my buddy (Who also is an amateur astronomer as well) and he noticed that the star-field was being blocked out between them. Being the time it was in the morning I wasn't surprised to find the next day that no one was reporting it on the news, besides, not too many people just walk out of the house and look up like I do. I now live in the Berkshires and I still "look up" outside every chance I get for the off-chance I may get another glimpse of this anomaly. (Source Story submitted to this website)

Leaving my girlfriends house here in Springfield, MA I noticed something odd in the sky traveling south in my direction. It was low, fast, big and soundless.
Looking straight toward it, it was one bright white light. As it passed it seemed "domed disk" in shape. The white light was in the front and along the edge between, seemingly, the disk and the dome were four different color blinking lights. Red, blue, amber and teal. It soon banked south west then quickly south again and then south east. I was trying to follow it there and lost sight. Underneath were four circles. The two in the front were a little smaller than the two in the back. In each of the circles were the same four colored lights. The body of the ship connected to them in a curved pattern almos! t like webbed feet and was dark. The nose flew lower than the tail as well. It ended up quickly changing direction west toward the CT river. There it paused for a while. By this time I made it home and ran in to get a rifle scope for a clearer view. It left in my attempt. The night was clear and I tilt my head back in aggravation. That's when I noticed, spread out, about 9 or 10 very large bright stars. Using the scope I began to look at them. They were all blinking.
