At 8:16 a.m. EST. A civilian at Westover AFB, observed an object half moon in shape, with a silvery outline traveling south at a speed greater than known aircraft. The object appeared to be at an altitude from 10,000 to 20,000 feet. The object was first sighted at an estimated 60 degree angle above the horizon. The object disappeared suddenly without apparent reason. The Westover Approach Control Radar was inoperative at time of reported sighting. The observer is a member of the Air National Guard and is an aircraft mechanic. (Source NICAP.org)

I was sleeping in my room and heard a noise like thunder. I looked out my window and saw an orange fireball gliding over the house. I went into the kitchen and told my sister to come to the window and watch what I thought was a meteor falling into the back yard. I pulled open the kitchen curtains and saw a black diamond with green lights on the points settle onto the back porch roof-- but the green lights didn't light up any of the diamond. (It was small, only about ten feet across and about eight feet high.) A low hum was shaking the house and rattling the back window. The thing sat on the roof for a few minutes. Finally the thing slid horizontally off the porch and hovered in the back yard. The green lights went off and it was just a black diamond, but it was blacker than the sky. It took off and seemed to be flying fast and slow at the same time. After it had gone over the hill, four jets from the military base chased it, but couldn't catch it.

I was in a basement apartment of a friend watching tv and there was a picture window above the television that gave me a good outside view. The apartment was on Memorial drive (Rt.33) next door to the Burger King looking out over Westover Air Base. While watching (around dusk) I happened to glance out the window and saw what looked like a luminous green orb flying at extremely high rate of speed east to west which would run right over the base.I immediately asked my friends if they saw it as well but they laughed and said I was making it up. The next day the girlfriend of the buddy who rented the apartment came to me and said it was in the newspaper. She never did and I didn't think at the time to ask which paper. (Source NUFORC.org)
